Four new classrooms and other renovated areas at Emerson Elementary School soon will be filled with new furniture and then students.
After a recent discussion, school board trustees voted 5-2 to spend $33,000 on new desks, chairs, tables, file cabinets and bookcases for the school.
Educational Furniture and Lee Co. were chosen to supply the different types of classroom furnishings.
The $1.5 million project is expected to be finished by the end of the year, and classes will be moved and set up in the new areas over winter break.
