Final approval of annexation of property for a luxury housing development northeast of Seymour will have to wait two more weeks because of an error.
The Seymour City Council did not vote on the matter during its meeting Monday night because it had not conducted a public hearing as required by state law.
The hearing has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at City Hall. A vote on annexing the property could take place that night.
Council member John Reinhart, chairman of the planning and zoning committee, said he didn’t know why the second reading of the annexation was on Monday’s agenda.
