Fake bills result in sentence

The first of two people arrested in connection with an investigation into more than 40 counterfeit bills passed in Seymour in the fall of 2012 has been sentenced.

A second awaits trial in September.

Samantha Jo Perez, 33, of 911 N. Broadway St. received a four-year sentence from Senior Judge Bill Vance and will serve one year of that sentence on home detention. The remaining three years will be served on supervised probation.
