Family memorializes 4-H’er with fairgrounds addition

The family of Ethan Underwood, a young man who died in a car wreck just days before the 2012 Jackson County Fair, recently found a way to memorialize him at one of the places he enjoyed spending much of his time — the Jackson County fairgrounds.

“We’re just building this so they can keep their cattle out of the sun and rain,” Underwood’s grandfather, Bernie Branaman of Medora, said of his grandson, who was a 10-year 4-H member.

Branaman was referring to an addition he and others recently built on the west end of the Show Arena at the fairgrounds on State Road 250 near Brownstown.
