Fans can vote for top 50 football players

BROWNSTOWN

The 2014 season will be the 50th year of football at Brownstown Central High School.

To commemorate the anniversary of the start of the program, the top 50 football players in school history will be honored.

At the program's website, bchsfootball.com, there is a list of former players who have been selected all-conference from the past 50 years. You can vote online for up to 50 players. If you want to vote for a write-in candidate, vote on Twitter by using #bcfb50greats. You also can follow BCHS football on Twitter, @btowncoachmay.

An all-star balloting system will be used to help pick the top 50 players. Fans can vote for their favorite players through May 31. At that time, there will be a new poll with the top 100 vote-getters. Then, fans can vote for their top 50 from that list until July 19, which is the day of the annual Superstars competition.

A selected panel will review the votes and decide the top 50 players based on fan votes, honors received throughout their career and statistics.

The top 50 players will be honored before the Silver Creek game on Oct. 10, which also is homecoming.
