Natalie Harpe of Seymour has a better appreciation for a carton of eggs and a bottle of wine.

After getting a behind-the-scenes look at Rose Acre’s egg-producing plant at Cort Acres and Chateau de Pique Winery in rural Seymour, Harpe said she’ll never look at the products the same way again.

“I never really thought about it before,” she said of the two processes. “But it’s very interesting.”

She and her husband, Brandon, joined about 30 other local residents for the Greater Seymour Chamber of Commerce’s Ag Tour on Wednesday. The chamber’s agribusiness committee organizes the event, switching its focus year to year from agriculture to industry.
