Farmers seeking voice in changes

A group of livestock producers and others with an interest in agriculture want to participate in changing how large livestock farms are regulated.

Paul Pottschmidt, who raises hogs in a confined animal feeding operation northwest of Brownstown, said the coalition recently formed to discuss proposed farm regulations and want an opportunity to offer input into those changes.

“We’re asking commissioners to put together a committee of stakeholders in the county to put together an ordinance,” Pottschmidt said.
