Police continue investigating a hit-and-run collision Friday night that left a Medora High School student dead and a second injured near the Lawrence-Jackson county line.
Kassi Richel Lewis-Yoskovich, 16, a Medora sophomore, suffered fatal head injuries after being thrown from the 2004 Vento mo-ped she was riding with Noah Brown, 14, of rural Medora, Lawrence County Sheriff's Department reported.
Brown, who was driving the mo-ped, was flown by air ambulance to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, according to an accident report from the sheriff's department. Brown is a freshman at Medora High School.
His condition was not available Sunday afternoon.
No arrest had been made in connection with the wreck as of Sunday afternoon, a Lawrence County Sheriff's Department spokesman said. Sheriff Sam Craig said officers had found what he described as a "vehicle of interest" in connection with the wreck, however.
