When the van pulls up to the homes of senior citizens from Brownstown, Medora, Norman and Freetown, it brings more than a meal.
It also brings a trip to the Brownstown Senior Center, which provides healthful meals, activities, friendship and, most importantly for some, independence for the residents who take advantage of the center operated by District 11 of Indiana’s Agency on Aging.
Site nutrition manager Cora Lucas said visitors to the center also take trips in the senior center van to get haircuts, buy groceries and go to medical appointments.
