It is quite likely that most of us will face some unwanted and unexpected periods of uncertainty or trouble this year.
None of us can avoid it completely. These things remind us that we are not in control. We are never in control, but we sometimes think we are. We pretend we are in control. But when the storm clouds roll in on our lives, we realize how helpless we really are.
The good news is that God speaks certainty in times of uncertainty. He is not caught off guard, and he is never afraid. Maybe even more comforting than that, we can see God’s hand in the midst of uncertainty. The Bible is filled with stories of people facing uncertainty and discovering that not only is God not absent, but he is, in fact, in control and he is at work accomplishing his will in this world and in the lives of his people, even in the midst of all of the uncertainty.
