If you’re considering visiting a friend or family member in a hospital or nursing home, you might want to double-check before you go.
Many health care providers are taking extra precautions to keep patients and residents safe in light of this year’s heavy-hitting flu season, which has left 40 Hoosiers dead.
No nursing home or hospital in the area has restricted visits, but many have asked staff members and visitors to stay home if they have signs or symptoms of the flu, a recommendation by local and state health officials for everyone.
