This small western Jennings County community doesn’t have a stoplight but probably could have used one Saturday for the annual Labor Day weekend festival.
This year’s event was called Auto Daze Gone By. The highlight of the event was an antique car and truck show, but there were plenty of other activities including music, a pie-baking contest, the Luke Elsner 5K run and walk, a micro-mini tractor pull and a garden tractor pull.
The centerpiece of the event, the Hayden Historical Museum, remains, however, a strong pull for many festival-goers.
Ann Whitehead of Scipio said she brings her four grandsons to the festival often.
