Only three people spoke at a forum Thursday designed to get public input in the search for a new Seymour school superintendent.
Seymour Community Schools board President Art Juergens expressed surprise and disappointment in the turnout.
“We can look at it one of two ways,” he said. “That the community is happy with what’s going on in our school system, or that they don’t care.”
Sharon Wood, a physical education teacher for Seymour Community Schools, expressed similar surprise.
“I feel like I need to show my support. And quite honestly, I thought this place would be packed,” she said.
