Jackson County United Way is more than $370,000 short of its goal with less than two weeks remaining in this year’s official fundraising campaign.

United Way officials announced that $538,357 has been pledged so far. That figure represents 59 percent of funds needed to support the annual operating costs of 20 community agencies.

Money is still coming in, however, and campaign organizers hope a few major employer campaigns that are wrapping up and end-of-year donations will help United Way reach its goal of $910,000.
