Former governor marries at 95

Life’s adventures continue for former Gov. Ed Whitcomb.

The former Seymour attorney escaped from a prisoner-of-war camp during World War II.

He became Indiana’s youngest secretary of state in the 1960s, a distinction he held until a younger Evan Bayh was elected secretary of state in the 1980s.

Whitcomb later was elected governor in 1968.

Afterward, he sailed around the world, alone.

Now, at age 95, Whitcomb is a newlywed again.
