Free cancer screenings offered at health center

Schneck Medical Center will offer free breast and cervical cancer screenings from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 6 at the Community Health Center, 113 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

The screenings are designed to provide exams to women who might not already have access to these services and include a clinical breast exam (not a mammogram) and a cervical exam with a pap test. All exams will be performed by qualified nurse practitioners.

The free pap test is being funded by a grant from Schneck Foundation.
