Fresh fruits and vegetables, a glass of red wine and warm, sticky maple syrup.
All are produced and sold by farmers and harvesters here in Jackson County, and there’s no better time to try them than now, when many products are in season.
One place to pick up locally grown produce is the Seymour Farmers Market. Or you could stop by Chateau de Pique Winery in Seymour for wine made from grapes harvested on site. Or drive out to Burton’s Maplewood Farms in Medora and pick up a bottle of maple syrup made from sap tapped from trees growing on the farm.
There also are local beekeepers who harvest and sell their own honey.
