Philanthropy is the practice of giving money and time to help make life better for other people.
This is the definition of philanthropy, according to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary. I like to think of it in slightly broader terms. For me, philanthropy is about giving, serving and leading.
Any one of these can be philanthropy, and we can easily see this in the journey of Jackson County. But we have miles to go. This is the first post in a monthly series on philanthropy in Jackson County that will appear in The Tribune.
