David Benton chapter of Sons of the American Revolution has begun its annual campaign to collect Christmas gifts for veterans living at the VA Medical Center in Louisville, Ky.

Suggested gift items include sweatshirts and sweatpants, socks, house shoes, bathrobes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, nail clippers, deodorant, shaving cream, shampoo, hand lotion and free-standing mirrors, stationery, postage stamps, books, puzzle books and snacks.

The deadline to donate is Dec. 18. Gifts should not be wrapped or packaged. Drop-off locations include Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, 311 S. Jackson Park Drive, Seymour, and American Legion Post 89, 402 W. Second St., Seymour. All items will be taken to the county Veterans Affairs Office at 1222 W. Bloomington Road in Brownstown.
