Standing back watching the 22 Brownstown Central Middle School cheerleaders volunteering Saturday at Red Sky Rescue dog shelter made me smile.
Two girls were huddled into a cage to give a dog a bath, and every time one of them sprayed the water hose, the dog went after it. The dog jumped all over the place, leaping up toward the girls several times with its wet paws. The girls just laughed. They didn’t care about getting dirty or wet.
In another area, one girl was spraying a dog as it laid in a kiddie pool. Then a few feet over from her, another dog was putting its front feet on a girl’s shoulders and looking her right in the eyes.
