To Taylor Gossett, a couple of things stand out about playing basketball at Seymour High School.

“I enjoy the games, and the team is a family. So we’re really close, and I enjoy that,” she said. “I like getting close with them.”

Gossett said she began her basketball career in third grade, playing club ball and the Enter His Courts league.

She has been a post player throughout her career, and she gives credit for her improvement to her youth coaches, including Matt Gillapsy, Rodger Lewis and Crystal Harrell. She said she has learned “pretty much from all my coaches and from Uncle Brad (Gossett). He teaches me everything. Every time I visit, it’s something new.”

Gossett said she likes playing low post.
