Since Seymour quit recycling glass a couple of years ago, Dick Stein goes out of his way to take empty glass bottles and jars elsewhere. He chooses to recycle all that he can because, he said, it’s the right thing to do.
Soon, Stein and other city residents who recycle will again be able to put out glass products for free curbside recycling pickup.
The Department of Public Works plans to reinstate a monthly glass collection program this spring in response to public demand and to keep glass out of the landfill, department director Bill Everhart said.
