Tim Freshour spent nearly three decades coaching basketball and football in Seymour.
Over time, he had worked at golf courses and played golf, but he had never coached the sport. He hasn’t been around coaching for a couple of years, but when he heard about the golf coach opening at Seymour High School, he jumped at the opportunity.
The Seymour Community Schools board of trustees recently approved athletics director Brandon Harpe’s recommendation to hire Freshour as the SHS boys golf coach.
“Once you kind of get that bug and you hit that one good shot, you kind of get hooked (on golf),” Freshour said. “I took a part-time job out at Shadowood (Golf Course) probably 13 or 14 years ago, and through working out there and playing, I kind of developed more of a love for the game.”
