Two Jackson County school corporations have received grants enabling them to add a school resource officer while a third received funding for security equipment.
Gov. Mike Pence announced the grants from the Secured School Safety Grant Program on Friday in Indianapolis.
Brownstown Central Community School Corporation will receive $49,400 to employ a school resource officer and Seymour Community Schools received $50,000 for a school resource officer, school security equipment and a threat assessment.
