Plans to expand Seymour’s new skate park are underway, and those involved with the project are again turning to the city for help.

The city council recently received a request from the Seymour Skate Park Association to provide $15,000 to expand the Schurman and Grubb Memorial Skate Park at Shields Park.

The city already has contributed more than $60,000 to the skate park, which is being built in phases because of its cost.
