A guided hike Jan. 8 at Monroe Lake on Wednesday will offer participants a chance to explore off-trail woods and clearings near Crooked Creek State Recreation Area.
The Lucas Hollow Hills Hike starts at 2 p.m. and will last 90 minutes. Monroe Lake’s naturalist Jill Vance will lead the hike.
“There aren’t any trails, so not many people have seen this area,” Vance said. “Most visitors only come here for the boat ramp.”
