Adrianna Bassard had to be ready to compete as soon as she arrived at Seymour High School’s Bulleit Stadium for a home track and field meet or got off of the bus at an away meet.
That’s because she was always in the first event, the 3,200-meter relay.
“I like to warm up with my teammates,” she said. “The four girls that are in the relay, we’ll do a little warmup and some strides. We talk, and we have a prayer at the beginning of the meet, so that helps. I just had to get ready, and I think about how I was going to run my race.”
