Hardy Lake to host Raptor Days

Visitors to Hardy Lake State Recreation Area’s Raptor Days Sept. 28-30 can experience live birds of prey presentations, watch for ospreys and eagles on the lake and tour the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Center.

Hardy Lake invites all schools and educational organizations, including home-school and scout groups, to Schools Day on Sept. 28.

Events will include live bird of prey presentations, crafts, games and wagon tours of Hardy Lake wildlife areas. Schools and groups should register in advance by calling (812)794-2244. The public is also welcome that day.

From 7 to 10 a.m. Sept. 29, the Friends of Hardy Lake will offer an all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser for the raptor center. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 4 to 12. Breakfast is free for kids 3 and younger.
