Monroe Lake will offer an autumn-themed Harvest Moon Weekend on Sept. 29-30 at Paynetown State Recreation Area.
A different set of autumn crafts will be offered from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.
A naturalist will rove the campground the evening of Sept. 29 discussing fall leaf color. On Sept. 30, there will be an autumn trees hike at 9:15 a.m. and face painting for kids from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The highlight of the weekend is the campfire program at 8 p.m. Sept. 29: “The Harvest Moon: Mystery, Magic and Meaning.”
Paynetown is at 4850 S. State Road 446 near Bloomington. The Paynetown entrance fee is $5 per in-state vehicle or $7 per out-of-state vehicle.
