Hayden museum displaying teacher’s valentines

Hayden Historical Museum will be displayed today through the end of the month old Valentine cards that had belonged to longtime Hayden school teacher Glen Morrison.

A few of these cards date back to when he was a student at Hayden, and the others came from the days after Morrison became a teacher. One card was from one of his students, who would later become a governor of Indiana, Edgar Whitcomb.

This collection of Valentines provides a good example of how the greeting cards looked in the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s.
