Proposals to decrease penalties for possession of small amounts of marijuana in Indiana to save the state resources has little support from those within the local criminal justice system.

“As a practicing attorney, I’ve seen a significant amount of state dollars spent on prosecuting and incarcerating individuals caught with small amounts of marijuana,” the Bedford Republican said. “We have to ask ourselves if this is the best use of our criminal justice resources.”
