A hidden trail camera helped solve a burglary in mid-November in western Jackson County, police report.

Josh Dewayne Silvers, 24, of Medora and Eldon William Sullivan, 35, of Tunnelton in Lawrence County face burglary, theft and trespassing charges in connection with the burglary reported Nov. 15, according to a news release Thursday from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

County Officer Dustin Steward said police obtained photos from a trail camera that had been placed on a utility pole on the property in the 4600 block of South County Road 1200W, where the burglary occurred.

The investigation began Nov. 15 when Steward and Officer Jesse Hutchinson went to the property and talked with a neighbor about a camper that had been broken into. The neighbor told police he watches the property for the owner, who lives in Indianapolis.
