High school sports events rescheduled for Friday, Saturday

Thursday marked the third straight day Jackson County high school sports events were postponed because of the weather.

Some of those events have been rescheduled for Friday and Saturday.

For Friday, Brownstown Central's girls basketball team will play at Scottsburg for the chance to win the Mid-Southern Conference outright. That will be a varsity-only game at 6 p.m. Following that game, Scottsburg's boys varsity team will play its regularly scheduled game against Southwestern (Hanover).

Also Friday, Seymour's junior varsity and varsity girls basketball teams will make up their Hoosier Hills Conference game at Jeffersonville, starting at 6 p.m.

On Thursday afternoon, Medora announced the postponements of its JV and varsity boys basketball home games Friday against Indiana School for the Deaf and Saturday against Crothersville. No makeup dates have been announced.

Later Thursday, Crothersville postponed Friday's Southern Athletic Conference home game against Henryville. No makeup date has been announced.

Then on Saturday afternoon, Crothersville will play a varsity-only game at SAC foe South Central at noon, and Trinity Lutheran's girls picked up a home game against Class 2A No. 5 Triton Central with JV at noon and varsity at 1:30 p.m. Also at the Trinity game, the Cougar seniors will be recognized.

On Saturday night, Seymour's girls will make up their home game against HHC rival and Class 4A No. 2 Bedford North Lawrence with JV at 6 p.m. and varsity at 7:30 p.m. That will be the second game that day for BNL, as the Stars are making up their home game against Bloomington South at 1:30 p.m. so they can honor their seniors. That is only a varsity game.

Also, Medora's boys basketball game at Rock Creek Academy, which was postponed Thursday, has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 24, and Crothersville's girls game against Edinburgh, which also was postponed Thursday, will not be made up.
