The Seymour boys tennis team had a disappointing 4-1 loss to Madison on Tuesday in the first round of the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament.
But in the Owls’ consolation bracket match Wednesday, they faced the No. 16 team in the state, Floyd Central.
The Highlanders won all of the matches in straight sets, including 6-0, 6-0 at four positions, in collecting a 5-0 win.
“I thought we played a little more competitive tonight than we did (Tuesday) night,” Owls coach Brad Emerson said. “We just played down to the level (at Madison), and I thought we played a little bit better quality tonight against a good team.”
