Hit-and-run wreck sends Seymour man to hospital

A Jackson County man was listed in stable condition Monday at an Indianapolis hospital where he was flown after being injured in a hit-and-run wreck early Sunday in Bedford.

Charles E. Moman, 62, of Seymour, was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital with abdominal and pelvic injuries after the wreck — reported at 12:07 a.m. at State Road 37 and John Williams Boulevard, according to a report from Bedford Officer Cory Thomas.

Moman was trapped in his 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis for 20 minutes before he was freed and flown by helicopter to Indianapolis. The second vehicle involved in the wreck, a blue 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was found at the scene, but no one was in the vehicle.
