The second “HD” Hogan’s Hero Ride will be Saturday.
Proceeds from the event, which begins and ends in Seymour, will go to the HD
Hogan Memorial Rodeo Scholarship Fund.
That fund was established in memory of Lance Cpl. Hunter “HD” Hogan of
Norman, who died June 23, 2012, while serving in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Hogan, a member of the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, competed in bull and bareback bronco riding before joining the Marine Corps.
The motorcycle ride will begin with registration from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, 311 S. Jackson Park Drive.
The ride begins at 1 p.m., and riders will head toward North Vernon and Madison with a stop planned in Vallonia. The riders also plan to stop at Hunter “HD” Hogan Way in Brownstown to take a group photo. The ride will end at Bubba’s Place, 402 S. Walnut St., Seymour.
The cost is $15 a rider or $25 a couple. There will be a silent auction and drawing after the ride. There also will be food and drinks available and entertainment. T-shirts will be available for purchase.
