The Centra Foundation and Centra Credit Union are offering an opportunity this holiday season to assist area children.
The Christmas tree at the Centra Credit Union branch in Seymour will be decorated with gift tags provided by the Fraternal Order of Police Cops & Kids program. Each tag represents a Jackson County child whom the the lodge plans to take shopping to purchase needed clothes and a toy.
The group expects to serve 30 to 35 children this Christmas. The number is dependent on the
money raised to support the program.
The Centra Angel Tree program runs through Dec. 14. Donations made to the Centra Foundation are tax-deductible.
“We realize that the holiday season is a very busy time for most people and despite good intentions many people don’t find the time to support the FOP Cops & kids program,” foundation president Lyn Morgan said. “Our goal is to make it a little easier to help less fortunate children by providing an opportunity to make a financial donation to support the Cops & Kids program while visiting a Centra Credit Union branch.”
The credit union branch is at 520 S. Jackson Park Drive.
“This year has been a particularly difficult year for our fundraising, we really appreciate the support of the Centra Foundation and staff at the Seymour branch of the Centra Credit Union,” lodge president C.J. Foster said.
