Home improvement program for seniors needs applicants

A program providing funds for low-income seniors and disabled residents in Seymour to help repair and modify their homes is struggling to find applicants.

The city is looking to assist seven or eight more homeowners this year with up to $15,000 available for each household. The deadline to apply is July 31, with all projects to be completed by October.

Seymour received $191,450 in federal money from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority last year to fund the housing program.
