Hornets edge Bulldogs for season's 3rd win



CANNELTON

Medora's boys basketball team played in the Cannelton Invitational during the Christmas break, but the Hornets didn't get to play the host team.

On Saturday, Medora made the trip back to Cannelton to face the Bulldogs, and the Hornets returned home victorious, 44-40.

They trailed 13-11 after one quarter before outscoring the Bulldogs in the next two quarters for a 29-24 lead going into the final eight minutes.

Medora (3-8) had balance with Kirk Stewart scoring 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and Bryce Cockerham and Roy Edwards posting 11 apiece.

Edwards made it a double-double with a team-high 10 rebounds, and Cockerham had nine boards.
