Hornets fall to Lancers at home on Senior Night

It seemed like every time Medora’s basketball team got close to Edinburgh on Tuesday night, the Lancers turned to Jennifer Stinson for a big basket or a key rebound.

Stinson scored 29 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to help the Lancers defeat Medora 59-48. Stinson topped the 1,000-point mark in her career in the third period.

Medora coach, Brad McCammon, said the Hornets had a hard time containing Stinson.

“Garry (Elkins, assistant coach) and I went up to Trinity and watched them play against Trinity, and she made a lot (12) of free throws,” he said. “She is very strong inside, and she’s smart enough to know that with her size (5-10) she is going to take it in strong, and it’s hard for us to combat that.
