Hornets squeak by Lions


Medora’s girls basketball team outscored Lighthouse Christian 8-4 in the fourth quarter Saturday to pull off a 31-29 victory.

The Hornets led 16-13 at halftime before the host Lions had a 12-7 scoring advantage in the third quarter.

Hannah Elkins led Medora with 10 points and seven blocks, and she also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Montana Wheeler added eight points, five rebounds and four blocks. Monika Bevers had a team-high nine rebounds.

Lighthouse Christian’s Mary Blemker led all scorers with 13 points.

The Hornets evened their record at 3-3 and are off until Nov. 29 when they play at Trinity Lutheran.
