SCOTTSBURG

Seymour seniors Brianna Gillaspy and Sidney Carr were all smiles after Saturday’s girls basketball game at Scottsburg, and they had good reason.

Gillaspy knocked down five 3-pointers, including three in the fourth quarter, and finished with 18 points, while Carr was unstoppable in the post and racked up a game-high 20 points on 10-of-10 shooting in helping the Owls defeat the Warriorettes 68-62.

Carr had six field goals in the first half, lifting the Owls to leads of 22-10 through one quarter and 34-26 at halftime.

“(Coach Jason Longmeier) said they were going to be a little bit spread out and that if we just pass and be patient, we would get the open shots when we wanted them,” Carr said.
