Hundreds lose power, wake to chill in air when line fails

A Seymour-area resident awoke Wednesday morning feeling a little chilly.

Tim Goodpaster of the Mutton Creek addition east of the city wasn’t alone. More than 450 Duke Energy customers lost power about 1:30 a.m. when a power line failed, spokesman Lew Middleton said.

Electricity was restored to most of those homes and businesses just before 8 a.m., but Shelly Acton of Mutton Creek remained without power two hours later.
