ISP confirms fatality in U.S. 50 wreck

A 36-year-old North Vernon man was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 50.

According to a press release from Trooper Matt Holley of the Indiana State Police Versailles Post, at approximately 7 p.m., Scott Lucas was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion westbound on U.S. 50 near County Road 450W in Jennings County.

For unknown reasons, police said, Lucas' vehicle crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2004 International flatbed tow truck driven by Larry Brown, 21, of Shepherdsville, Ky., head on.

Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene, and Brown complained of pain to his wrists, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
