Tatum Cowles, 10, is already nervous about taking the ISTEP+ next month without the added concern of computer glitches.

On Tuesday morning, Tatum and her fifth-grade classmates at Emerson Elementary School helped test the CTB/McGraw-Hill online testing service by logging on and running through practice questions.

The purpose of the test was to have a large number of students log on at the same time across the state to see if the server could handle the volume without problems.
