Ice, snow and cold weather gave holiday shopping slow start

Slick roads, heavy snow and biting temperatures in the past few weeks have caused some locals to hold off on their holiday shopping.

With that, some area businesses have noticed a slight decline in customer traffic.

“It’s been a slow start,” said Martha Ault, store manager of Shoe Sensation. “We stay steady all the time, but we’ve not really had a rush or store full of people.”
