Icy, slick roadways freeze out drivers ... again

Icy roads prompted a rash of wrecks Sunday morning, but none were serious, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

Freezing rain started falling around 6:40 a.m. ahead of sleet and an expected 3 to 7 inches of snowfall as a winter storm warning remained in effect overnight.

The anticipated arrival of the snow shifted throughout Sunday along with how much was expected to fall. Accumulation forecasts ranged from highs of 4 to 8 inches.
