Twenty-nine members of Immanuel Guild of Immanuel Lutheran Church recently met in the church fellowship hall.
President Tammy Swindell presided over the business meeting, which opened with the group singing, “Now Thank We All Our God.”
Joseph Barlow, the church’s new vicar, talked about his background. Barlow grew up near Young America, Minn., and while at Concordia Seminary, he spent a year abroad studying at Westfield House of Cambridge University.
The Mite Box was passed, and money will be given to Henryville disaster relief.
Norma Thiele read names of members having birthdays in July, August and September.
Connie Roeder read minutes of previous meetings and correspondence. Nancy Terkhorn gave the treasurer’s report.
The group discussed pecan and candy sale fundraisers.
Swindell thanked members who helped with the ministry fair and the Lutheran Community Home birthday party.
Visitation for September will be made by Jean Barkman and Connie Roeder.
An apple theme was carried out in dessert and table decorations. Everyone took home an apple.
Hostesses for the evening were Ruth Newkirk, Billie Trimpe, Elsie Brooks and Barbara Otte.
The meeting closed with prayer.
