There are few things worse in American life than dealing with bureaucracy. Think of a mistake on your driving record that suspends your license or that tax bill you claimed you paid — and a government official says otherwise.
But far, far worse is being convicted of a crime that deems you a sexually violent predator and lands you on Indiana’s publicly accessible registry for sex offenders. Suddenly, most Americans don’t care or even appreciate that those felons, too, might have struggles being trapped inside government bureaucracy.
