Jackson County motorists using Interstate 65 may face traffic jams in the Columbus area for the next few weeks.
A state contractor will inspect the arch bridge over the interstate at State Road 46 and the Robert N. Stewart Bridge at Second Street.
Harry Maginity, spokesman for the Indiana Department of Transportation's Seymour District, said the I-65 bridge inspection will cause ramp closures and detours under the bridge Monday through Friday, and then lane closures over the bridge for the following week.
